Vicar’s Message

Dearly Beloved in Christ,
Warm Greetings!

“Delight yourself in the Lord, & He will give you the desires of your heart.” Psalms 34:7
What does delighting in the Lord truly mean? How can that satisfy our desires? Hannah of the Old Testament stands as a very good example to this truth. 1Samuel 2 describes the pain & torture that Hannah has to undergo for being childless. It is her deep longing to mother a child. Even with her unfulfilled dream she is regular in going to the temple of her God with her husband to offer sacrifice. Though she shares her sorrow with her husband she finds it essential to open her heart to the Lord. She makes her petition very clear to God. It is only when she opens up her heart to God that she returns home with her face no longer downcast & with a faith that none can alter. Hannah delights in the unchanging truth that ‘God is true to His promises’, &, ‘His delays are never denials’. She sees her situation as an occasion to strengthen her trust and dependence on God. Her latter years are spent in thanking God even when the promise is to be fulfilled. ‘Trust’ and a ‘thankful heart’ are the keys to delight in the Lord always. Let us be diligent in placing our desires before the throne of Grace & step thankfully with faith for God to work His divine plan.
Please don’t miss the great occasion to come together as St. Peter’s family, during our church picnic on 4th Aug., 2012. Let us     together join in making the day a memorable one

With prayers,
