St. Peter' s Mar Thoma Church was established in 1988 with 65 families. We had a rented church in the western part of Teaneck, where regular Sunday worship services were held. The church kept on growing with each year and now it has 165 registered families who gather every Sunday to worship and praise the Lord.

St. Peter's Mar Thoma Church is part of the Mar Thoma Syrian Church in Kerala, India. Malankara Mar Thoma Syrian Church, traditionally beleived to have been founded in the year AD 52 by Saint Thomas- one of the 12 disciples of Jesus Christ, and known by the name of the Apostle. Saint Thomas in the language of  Kerala,India is called MAR THOMA.

The Metropolitan of the Mar Thoma Church is Most Rev. Dr. Joseph Mar Thoma and Most Rev. Dr. Philipose Mar Chrysostam is the Valia Metropolitan. The Diocesan Center of the Diocese of North America and Europe is located in Merrick, New York and the Diocesan Bishop is Rt. Rev. Dr. Geevarghese Mar Theodosius. There are lots of activities which are held by different bodies of the church. So please come and join us any Sunday morning to worship and praise the Lord!
