Mar Thoma Yuvajana Sakhyam was organized with a view that all young people in the church should accept Jesus Christ as their Saviour and Lord, and bear wtiness to His saving power. It was organized in 1933 by a resolution of the Sabha Prathinidhi Mandalam. The first president of the sakhyam was Rev. V.P. Mammen.

The Sakhyam publishes a monthly Malayalam magazine called Yuvadeepam and an English magazine called Ripples with the article of interest to the youth and with focus on the needs of the church and society.

St. Peters Mar Thoma Church Yuvajana Sakhyam meetings are held every month either at the church or at the residence of one of its members. Meetings are joyful occasions for all sakhyam members to have Bible Study, share experiences and to have true fellowship.

Last year, Sakhyam took initiative and funded various charity projects through individual contributions by sakhyam members, bake sale, yard sale and clothes collection. Kids of the Sakhyam members are also an integral part of all sakhyam activities, their active presence makes sakhyam meetings more vibrant and meaningful.

St. Peters Mar Thoma Yuvajana Sakhyam has turned into a platform where both Malayalam and English speaking young families can get together and grow in Christ.
