From the Desk of Superintendent

The St. Peter’s Mar Thoma Church Sunday school has been an integral part of the parish, carrying out the teaching ministry of Christ since its formation in 1988. We are blessed with 30 dedicated teachers and 90 students. Teachers and students actively participate in church services and contribute to the growth of our parish. Many teachers serve on the decision making body of the church at various capacities.

Sunday School plays a vital role to train our children and help them to grow in the image of our Lord Jesus Christ. Working closely with parents, teachers strive to help children develop a deeper love for Jesus, understand the word of God, and learn how to apply this knowledge to live a Christ centered life.

The St. Peter’s Mar Thoma Church Sunday school is affiliated to the Mar Thoma Sunday School Samajam of the Diocese of North America & Europe. We follow the curriculum published by the Diocese of North America and Europe. Classes are conducted from Nursery to 12th grade. The curriculum focuses on teaching the word of God as well as the History of the Mar Thoma Church including the meaning behind the rituals we practice today.

Sunday school starts at 9.00AM every Sunday with a singing session led by a dedicated Praise and Worship Team. Students enjoy the sing along session and Bible Jeopardy, which follows a short message by students or teachers. Praise and Worship session ends with general announcements and offertory.

As we try to instill the love of God in our children, we need the prayers and support of the faith community. Parents and the parishioners must take the responsibility of nurturing our children by words, deeds, and example.

Please feel free to contact the Sunday School Superintendent, or teachers for any questions or concerns.
